THE PLOT:
When a strange distress signal comes from Mars, a crack commando team has been sent in. Their orders, rescue survivors, contain
any threat and retrieve research data. But the situation is worse and stranger then they barbained for.
The lab is crawling with strange mutant creatures, scienctists are acting like crazed animals, the lead Doctor pulls off
his own ear.
What are these monsters, are they an experiment gone wrong, or a mistake of the dead inhabitants that comes back to haunt
us?
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I got to admit, most of the characters were kind of two-dimentional. The Rock did the best he could with the material given
to him. The only whole characters were Reaper and his sister. They had backrounds and a scarred past. Most of the characters
didn't even have names, just nicknames. But the souce material the first person shooter is thin as well. But I still they
could have done better. It's not dull by any means, just wish it had more substance. I give it...7 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
Without giving too much away, I love the scene that looks like they ripped right out of the game. The first person view of
the hall as the character goes and blasts baddies away. I think that makes up for the weak characters. Yup, that makes up
for the characters and somewhat weak writing. I give it...8 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CAST (The cast did a good job for what they had to work with)
+ CREATURES (Looked remarkably like the game series.)
+ STORY (The story works)
+ ATMOSPHERE (It feels like we were in the world of DOOM the game)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- WEAK CHARACTERS (Most of the human characters were a tad thin.)
- WRITING (The dialog was thin as well.)
AND FINALLY....
- FAN BASED (If your not a fan of the DOOM the video game, then you aren't going to like DOOM the movie.)
