cords missing and a strange vampire mark on the back of the neck.
A local scientist has confessed to a crime to tapping into the military base's nuclear generator in order to gain the
power he needed for a mind expanding experiment. The experiment failed in more ways then one, it created hundreds maybe even
thousands of strange invisible creatures.
By increasing the generator powers the invisible becomes visable and the creatures of monster brains. But seeing them
isn't stopping them. They move silently and quickly, plus they small base is hopeless outnumbered. They must know how the
people felt inside the Alamo.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
This is a great flick, first one to get really graphic with the gore. There is some great stop motion effects in this movie
for the brain monsters. Very, very cool. The way they bleed different color blood was sooo cool. But it's not all good,
like allot of fifties monster movies, it lags at certain points and drags it self along. But that's not that often. Let's
talk acting for a second, I think the acting in this was first rate. The cast, even though there we're any big stars did
a great job. The concept of radiation bringing out monsters from the subconcious is a tad farfetched but they blamed all
kind of monsters on radiation in those days. Plus, I never heard of a army base having a nuclear generator. Oh well, I give
FIEND WITHOUT A FACE...9 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree, a true classic of the 1950s, that doesn't get the recognition that other movies from the time peroid does. I think
every true science fiction fan should see the FIEND WITHOUT A FACE. Do it today! I also give it...9 STARS!
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (Even if it's farfetched, it's works.)
+ CAST (The cast was perfect for this movie.)
+ ACTING (Some pretty damn good performances in this movie.)
+ EFFECTS (The stop motion effects were perfect)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The design of the creatures were major coolness.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- SLOW POINTS (It got draggy early in the film, but it picks up.)
AND FINALLY...
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If you aren't big on Science Fiction, then this isn't for you.)
