THE PLOT:

While taking a trip to Bakersfield, Dick and Marge Nelson is abducted by aliens and taken to another planet. Marge gets some interesting pictures of the planets on they way there. They are the prisoners of the sick and evil King Tod who has overthrown the true king.

Tod as plans on destroying Earth and marrying Marge. Now Dick my escape the madhouse and find a way to save the Earth and his bride. But hindered by the fact that this is a planet of idoits.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

Jeffrey Jones makes a great comic hero and Jon Lovitz is always good in what ever role he does. This is a unique and funny concept with great effect, incredible creature effects, clever and funny dialog and a stellar cast. It does get silly at points, but it is a comedy, so one would expect that. Eric Idle has a small role as the true king that had his thrown stolen by Tod. Kathy Ireland is gorgeous and shows she can do comedy and is more then just a pretty face and great pair of...eyes. Anyway, I love the little animal people. The dog men and the fish women, they are sooo cute as monsters go. They are, they really are. This is a clever and unique movie that I think anyone who like the 80's FLASH GORDON will enjoy. So to sum up, I am very happy with this comedy with the odd title and I give MOM AND DAD SAVE THE WORLD 9 STARS. Don't be surprised to see this a a buried treasure.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd up to a point. Comedy or not, it does get silly at points, almost to the point of annoying. But not that often. I also liked the cast and the creature effects. Everything is pretty cool and it does work as a comedy, for the most part. I give it...8 STARS
