ZEDD'S OPINION:

I got to admit I was a little grossed out when I first saw it as a child. But as I grew older I got over my problem with the film. The cast is great, the story is great, the creature effects are great. A near perfect movie. I think that Rip Torn does not look good in war braids, not at all. But Tanya Roberts looks good in anything and nothing at all. Anyway, this became one of my favorite fantasy movies in the 80's. Not to confuse it with the stupid and confusing BEASTMASTER the series, which I will not really get into right now. That's another review in the not to distant future. Where was I? I love the bat creatures, I wish they had a name other then WINGED CREATURES. All and all a true classic from the 1980s' and I give it...9 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd on this one as well. The Beastmaster is one of my favorite movie series, I even like the two sequels that came out. Love them, Marc Singer is a great actor. Been a fan of his since V. A cool movie and I also give 9 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The creature effects were pretty cool.)
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job.)
+ ATMOSPHERE (It really feels like the old days.)
+ ACTING (The acting was really great.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- DYE (I don't know what kind of dye they used, but they should have tested before filming began. You could tell it was coming off when he cleaned. They should have used a more expensive dye at least it would have been safer.)

AND FINALLY...

- NOT FOR EVERYONE (Some might find it kind of gross.)
