Wes Craven's Cursed (USA) (complete title)
While heading home after a Hollywood Party, Elle and Jimmy experience a car wreck and while trying to help the person who
caused the wreck, she is torn in half and the siblings and hurt by some kind of animal.
What they believed to be just an animal is a werewolf and it seems to be stalking women, women who show any kind of interest
in a man trying to get a wax museum. Now cursed, if they can't find out who the original werewolf is, they will hunt the
flesh of the innocent for the rest of time.
As you may or may not be aware of is the fact how much I loved the movie The Lost Boys and this movie has many of the same
good elements as The Lost Boys. It has great characters, it has a great story, great effects. Funny and scary, it's just a
great movie. Christina Ricci has been in many of my favorite movies in her career, the live action Casper, the remake of the
ADDAMS' FAMILY, and more recently BLACK SNAKE MOAN. Now, the identity of the werewolf will keep you guessing and it gets dark
in places and there are some minor character issues in the minor characters. But on the whole this is a masterpiece in horror
and Wes Craven has done it again. So to me this is the werewolf equivalent to the Lost Boys and well worth watching, over
and over again. 9 STARS.
I got to agree with Zedd on this on both Cursed and the Lost Boys. But are great, exciting and interesting horror flicks
with a sense of humor. Wes Craven is one of the best horror directors around, not perfect, some of his movies are better
then others and I have to say that this is one of his better ones. I give it 9 STARS also.
