But Van Helsing and his Friar side soon learn that this is much bigger then they first thought as Dracula uses the technology invented by Doctor Frankenstein to bring live to an army of his monster children.

Anna discovers the Frankenstein Monster is the key to the device and her brother has became a werewolf. Can they get it together before the world is flooded with baby vampires?

ZEDD'S OPINION:

A good old fashion monster movie, like the remake of the Mummy. But I do have a couple of issue with it. One, the rating, keeping it PG-13 dumbing things made it lost realism. Like for instance, early in the film. Van Helsing takes on Mister Hyde to introduce Van Helsing, he takes a flying cutting device (which is cool but hard to believe existed in the 19th century) and sliced off Mister Hyde's arm at the elbow. But yet, no blood. Last time I checked Mister Hyde wasn't a zombie or any form of the undead, his heart was still beating so logic dictacts buckets of blood. Still, I loved the story, the characters were cool and the new monster designs were cool. I give it...7 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with the realism factor conntected to the rating, my god when did movies become just a kids things. A thousand movies released in the theaters last year and how many were rated R. Hello, adults like to watch movies too. When did it become okay to dumb movies down just to let kids in. Kids have enough kids movies, it's time for the Horror genre to be retaken by the adults. Kids have Bambi and Shrek and least let us have Vampires with realistic blood. Like Spawn, they dumbed down the theatrical release to PG-13 and made the R rated version for the DVD. Sure, they draw the teens in but loose the adults. Yet they wonder they the movies aren't making as much money. Any Producers reading this, stop treating adults like children. ENOUGH dumbing things down to PG-13! Stop it! Anyway, Van Helsing is a good movie that I also give 7 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ MONSTERS (The Wolfman, Dracula, little dwarf monsters, The Frankenstein Monster, Dracula's Brides, Baby Vampires and even Mister Hyde)
+ STORY (The story basically works.)
+ EXCITNG (Never a dull moment.)
+ CAST (The cast did a good job.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- PG-13 (Dumbing this down to PG-13 really hurt the realism of the movie, when you cut off the arm of a living person, it bleeds. DUH!!!!)

AND FINALLY....

- FAN BASED (Some might find this exciting action pact movie, silly to the die hard horror fan.)
